"The year started with a few very nice photo-publications. This one is my favourite, and ever since I saw the maquette two years back, I just love Fleuret's darkish images, which are never brooding or simply melancholic. The book produced by J&L has a very distinct yet unobtrusive appearance, and although Fleuret is influenced by both American and Japanese street photography, he has found a convincing style and content of his own. I sense his great curiosity about the world which he travels, the art of book-making and the limits of what a camera can depict and what not."
